FuroSystems is a London-based startup that is launching two new full carbon electric bikes, a folding bike and a mountain bike. FuroSystems’ ambition was to design very stylish, ultra-light electric bicycles with strong carbon fiber frames that encase all electronic parts and cables – and to sell them at a very competitive price. Both of these e-bikes feature high quality, mid-drive motors and offer great range. They are currently available for pre-order on FuroSystem’s website. FX: The First Full Carbon Folding E-Bike
The FX Folding E-Bike is the first full carbon fiber electric folding bicycle. The carbon fiber makes the frame strong, but is so light that the bike has a total weight of just 32 lbs (14 kg). It can be folded in three simple steps, as shown in this illustration, and also in the video further below:
The FX E-bike is powered by a 250 W high performance BAFANG rear motor and a state-of-the art 8.7 Ah battery, using the latest cells available on the market. This translates to a range of 28 miles (45 km) at a normal pace. The FX is equipped with Shimano hydraulic disk brakes for precision stopping power. It also has 9-speed Shimano gears, enabling you to ride the FX just like a regular bike when not using power assistance. All these features work together to make one of the lightest and versatile city e-bikes on the market.

SIERRA: Full Carbon, Fully Integrated Mountain Electric Bike
The SIERRA is a fully integrated full carbon electric mountain bike. The carbon fiber enables the low total weight of 42 lbs (19 kg). This greatly improves handling, enabling an outstanding ease of use and a ride that feels like a glide. The SIERRA’s standard 10.4 Ah battery offers more than 34 miles (55 km) of range at an average pace while its upgraded 14 Ah battery gets the rider more than 47 miles (75 km) of range. Both seamlessly integrate within the frame of the bike.
The SIERRA’s 250 W (or 350 W in the US) BOFEILI mid-drive motor fits perfectly within the e-bike’s carbon frame. Equipped with a torque sensor, the BOFEILI motor reacts to the pressure exerted by the rider on the pedals to produce the power you instinctively require. The two chain rings and 9-speed Shimano rear transmission also leverage the power of the mid-drive motor to give you outstanding control with virtually 18 different torque levels. The SIERRA can be ridden on any terrain, from smooth city pavements to rough mountain trails. It is also equipped with strong Shimano hydraulic disk brakes and a Suntour XCM front suspension to even out the bumps.
As a result, the SIERRA offers a perfect ride for anyone in any situation, while retaining a sleek design. It is light, fun, powerful and reliable – and stylish!
Both of these e-bikes were designed with aesthetics in mind, while optimizing for efficiency, affordability, and the highest standard of manufacturing.
