Today the OS ebike Kickstarter campaign went live. The project offers a guide for making a lightweight eBike design built with open source hardware and software that backers can assemble and customize themselves. It is aimed at electronics, hobby, and cycling enthusiasts. It’s a great project to learn about electric vehicles and build a useful product that helps you get around town.
Starting at just $30, early bird backers of the project can get access to detailed guides and tutorials for all stages of construction and integration, as well as community support via a project site and forum. The project aims to raise $6,000 to support the creation of guides and tutorials and provide a solid community of support around the design.
